Local / Course Rules

 

Health and Safety 

Players should always ensure that their line of play is clear before proceeding. Note particularly 7th, 11th and 14th holes – wait for the buzzer or bell to be sounded before driving off. 

 

Green staff has priority on the course at all times, please do not play until signalled to do so, the staff will make every effort to ensure that your game is not disrupted unnecessarily.

Etiquette 

Please observe the etiquette of golf at all times. Avoid slow play, replace divots, repair pitch marks on greens and smooth out bunkers. No bag sharing is allowed. A maximum of four players per game. Dress code smartly casual. Golf shoes must be worn. No denims, No football shirts. No tracksuit bottoms. No football shorts. No vest tops

 

Dress Code

We respectfully request that visitors follow the club dress code at all times, denims, football style shirts and shorts are not permitted, footwear must be recognised golf wear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Local Rules

Please check Notice Board for temporary rulings. 

Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2) 

Beyond all hedges and fences on the perimeter of the course. 

The practice area and hedges to the left of the first hole. 

The River Trent on holes 3, 4 and 5. 

The car park and clubhouse surrounds. 

The 7th hole to the left of the white marker posts on the left down to the final post and across the 8th fairway and beyond the white marker posts on the path to the right of the swamp and 7th green. 

The lake to the right of the hole played from the 8th tee for the extent of the white marker posts. The area to the right of the 15th hole as defined by white marker posts. 

Beyond the white marker posts which contain the chipping area and putting green. 18th hole – the area on the left defined by white posts. 

Area behind 2nd green as defined by white marker posts. 

Area to the left of 6th defined by white marker posts. Area behind 11th green as defined by white marker posts. 

Beyond the white marker posts to the right of the 12th fairway. 

 

Penalty Areas (Rule 17) 

All areas defined by red stakes. A ball coming to rest on a bridge or pathway across a penalty area is deemed to be in the penalty area. 

2nd hole - For a ball entering the penalty area beyond the bridge on either side of the hole, relief must be taken in the drop zone at the nearest point to where the ball entered the penalty area. 

The pond to the left on the 4th hole is marked with red stakes. 9th hole - If your ball crosses over the water and hits the Silver Birch Trees on the bank or touches any part of the bank beyond the margin of the penalty area boundary you may take relief in accordance with Rule 17. 

 

Loose Impediments (Rule 15.1)

Stones in bunkers are loose impediments and they may be removed (they are a natural object.) However, if the ball moves when moving a loose impediment, your ball must be replaced on its original spot and you get a one penalty stroke. Rule 15.1b applies. 

 

Without Penalty 

a. Any ball hitting the overhead wires or associated equipment must be replayed without penalty. 

b. Any new digging (loose soil). 

c. Ball plugged in the closely mown area may be dropped as close as possible to where the ball lay. 

d. Any made paths. 

e. From staked trees.

f. Any ball resting against wooden structures on all tees. 

 

Fixed Sprinkler Heads 

All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief without penalty is available under Rule 16.1b. In addition, if a ball lies in the general area and an immovable obstruction on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief without penalty as follows: The ball must be lifted and dropped at the nearest point of complete relief to where the ball lay that a) is not nearer the hole, b) avoids intervention and c) is not in a penalty area or on a putting green. The ball may be cleaned when so lifted. 

 

Penalty for Breach of Local Rules - General Penalty: 

Match Play - Loss of Hole; 

Stroke Play - Two Shots.
